This recipe holds great memories for me! As a kid, this was always one of our “go to” lunches every year at family camp (I wrote about it HERE). It’s super easy, and can be customized a bunch of different ways!
It’s healthy too!
First, cut around the stem and scoop out some of the middle of an apple.
Then, fill with some natural peanut butter (or Biscoff Spread if you are feeling naughty!). Finally, sprinkle with raisins, chocolate chips, silvered almonds, crushed graham crackers….really anything that you like!
It’s a fun snack/lunch for kids because it’s something more unique than a sliced apple with peanut butter and they can carry the whole thing in their hands!
Have you ever made anything like this? What filling/toppings do you like to use?

Now that’s a good idea! Right now thinking of the different fillings and different fruits I can adapt this to. Whipped Cream cheese, dulce de leche… oh my and oh yeah. Here from the weekend showcase, gracias for the recipe and BB2U.
Oh wow yum!! Totally adaptable! Thanks for coming by and commenting!
Ah that looks delicious and so fun for kids!! Thanks for sharing it! I just came by from the weekend showcase, sorry I couldn’t come by this weekend. I’m intrigued with this though. Is there a special way to cut the apple insides out?
Great question!! I just take a knife and cut around the stem and then use a spoon to scoop out some of the apple core. Hope that makes sense! :)
Looks yummy!! Thanks for sharing :)
this looks like an awesome on the go spring salad
come see what I shared at http://shopannies.blogspot.com
That looks good! I would think it would be good with a Granny Smith and Honey Cream Cheese:)
