Holiday Home Tour
| December 15, 2012 | Filled under christmas |
Welcome to our winter wonderland holiday home tour!
This is what it looked like in our neck of the woods very recently. Certainly puts you in a Christmas mood! Well, come on in!
Here is our tree! We always get a real tree, and this year we got a balsam fir. It smells so great!
Hudson likes it too, although it takes up his favorite spot to watch what is going on outside. He makes it work though. :)
Our tree is filled with ornaments of all kinds. It is certainly not a perfectly decorated match-y tree by any means!
We give an ornament to each of our boys every year that represents something about them or something meaningful from the past year. My parents did the same thing when I was growing up so the tree is filled with lots of memories!
Here are a few of my favorites!
Yes, that is a picture of me at probably 5-6 years old. It was so fun when I left home to bring a box of all my ornaments with me. I actually had things to put on my first tree! :)
We almost always try to pick up an ornament when we go on a trip. It’s fun to relieve those memories as well every year when we decorate the tree.
See? Some are old!! Wait…I just called myself old.
Moving around the living room…
I have several of these ribbon garlands that I made for some of the seasons, so I just draped the Christmas one around this picture.
I love this nativity set that I got from Pottery Barn years ago.
Top of the piano….
Changing out the filler in these glass urns is also something I do for just about every season. Ornaments are cheap and easy!
Both the reindeer and the red tree came from Target (I think).
This Merry Christmas fabric banner came from Target just this year. I’ve seen it on a couple of other blogs too. Must be popular! :)
Here are the Boxwood Wreaths I made (I posted how I made them HERE). I am still in love with them!
These metal lanterns were another Target purchase from probably 10 years ago. Wow, I buy a lot at Target. Haha!!
I have them in my kitchen in front of the sink. I love how they look at night!
I made this Christmas banner several years ago and decided to hang it in the kitchen this year.
Now, onto the mantle.
I made these stockings for the boys myself! It took forever. My fingers were numb from sewing all those sequins on, lol!
Love this Santa! His clothes and beard are so soft!
I have several years of letters to Santa in this pillow, which are so fun to read now that the boys are older.
I wrote here about how I change out the ribbons on these candles to go with the season.
This Christmas countdown calendar used to be the first thing the boys went to in the mornings to put the next day on…now I’m the one who does it!
Finally, our tree at night. My hubby and I have sat on the couch in this room several times at night enjoying the tree.
I love this time of year!
